Dr. Eva Berkes
Dr. Berkes grew up in the Sarasota-Bradenton area and returned in 2002 to establish her private practice in adult and pediatric allergy, asthma and immunology. Dr. Berkes is board certified in allergy, asthma and immunology. She graduated from Williams College (Williamstown, MA) and attended medical school at the University of Florida, where she remained for her residency in Internal Medicine. She completed a fellowship in allergy, asthma and immunology at The Scripps Clinic and Research Institute (La Jolla, CA). She wanted to work in an interdisciplinary, collaborative medical practice, a clinic where both patient care and research medicine could not only co-exist, they would be synergistic. In 2010 she and her husband, Dr. Nicholas Monsul, founded a forward-thinking, collaborative medical practice all under one roof in Sarasota, Hawthorne Clinic and Research Center. Like her husband, Dr. Nicholas Monsul, she maintains a keen interest in scientific research and biotechnology. Her research area focuses on the human microbiome and its relationships with human innate immunity, biofilms and disease states associated with chronic and allergic inflammation.
